Know the Ads
To begin with, you must get familiar with the different formats and ad sizes available with Adsense. Choose the ad that best compliments your site, so as to encourage people to click on them. Blend Your Ads with Content
You must learn to blend your ads with the content on your site. This is actually against the Adsense rules; therefore you must be very careful with this. But, it happens to be one of the best ways to dramatically increase your CTR. People are pretty wary of promotion or advertising; therefore you must make them feel that they aren’t clicking on an ad. An important tip would be to ensure that the text in your ad is of the same colour as the content on your page. Even the titles of the ads should be of the same colour as the hyperlinks on your page.

Position
The centre of your page is the most important place on your page. People pay more attention on all that is displayed on the centre. If your ads are positioned near the edge, move them in the middle. This is a guaranteed way to increase your CTR. Try different positions and see the clicks on your ads. There is a ‘channel’ facility with Adsense which would allow you to test different ads in different positions.
